The curriculum is everything that is planned for the children throughout their education.
Ethos and life of the school as a community
Curricular areas and subjects
Interdisciplinary learning
Opportunities for personal achievement
In Aviemore Primary School the child is at the centre of learning and teaching. All children in Scotland have a coherent curriculum from 3-18, which is known as 'A Curriculum for Excellence' (CfE).
Experiences and outcomes set out expectations for learning and development in Expressive Arts, Languages, Health and Wellbeing, Mathematics and Numeracy, Religious and Moral education, Sciences, Social Studies and Technologies.
The curriculum is inclusive, is a stimulus for personal achievement and, through the broadening of experiences of the world, is an encouragement towards informed and responsible citizenship.
Our aim is to provide learning which is challenging, engaging, motivating and encourages high aspirations and ambitions for all.
There is a broad range of experiences enabling children to be active in their learning and have appropriate opportunities to develop and demonstrate their creativity.
